New York – Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo says the recent “knockout” attacks on Jewish community members of Crown Heights may be caused by tensions between the black and Jewish communities.

DNAinfo New York (http://dnain.fo/1ePQLIV) reports that the newly elected Brooklyn councilwoman representing Crown Heights published a letter on Tuesday stating that various black residents said they feel threatened by the growth of the Jewish community, and that the rising tension between the two groups could be the cause for the outbreaks of violence in the last few months.
Cumbo posted the 1200-word letter on her Facebook page and emailed it to her backers. In it she says, “Many African American/Caribbean residents expressed a genuine concern that as the Jewish community continues to grow, they would be pushed out by their Jewish landlords or by Jewish families looking to purchase homes.”
Cumbo further explains in her letter that the violence is part of a breakdown in communication between African-American and Caribbean-American residents and the Lubavitch Hasidim, who have all called the community home for decades.
Pushed out? Who is pushing them out? If a black family owns a home and a Jewish family wants to buy it, they don’t have to sell it to them. They choose to sell it to them because Jews pay top dollar. Then, once the neighborhood becomes more Jewish, real estate value rises and other black families can sell their houses for even more money. As for the “Jewish landlords” thing, that’s just a classic anti-Semitic stereotype that doesn’t merit discussion.
Sounds like she’s justifying terrorism.

The thugs doing these attacks are not doing them for political or economic reasons, such as housing. They attack for fun and visciousness, because Yidden are defenseless easy targets that don’t fight back or carry weapons. If we stood up for ourselves these attacks would stop. Think the thugs would attack an Italian in Bensonhurst ?
This new councilwoman is a gigantic fool,the reason for the knockouts is simple the black kids are full of rage because of their upbringing and their failure to make somebodies of themselfs they have no selfworth hence they become criminals its all their parents fault.

Looks like she’s explaining and giving reason for the African Americans living in brooklyn why to hate Jews, se actually wants more Jews knocked out due to the Jews buying out the neighborhoods.

The words genuine concern seal it in my book. They could have concerns but as a City official (soon to be) she represents a government and all constituents. People could have a concern but labeling it genuine by her makes her the arbiter of truth. Every NYer JEWISH and otherwise should rise up and protest this racist.

Who lived in Crown Heights before the blacks? The blacks reduced the Jewish population in many neighborhoods by perpetrating violent crimes. Maybe all people being chased from their neighborhoods should vent their frustration and randomly attack all blacks? She should address the lack of family structure and being led by self serving leaders as herself as to what is causing the issues in the black community. How would she expain black on black crime? Let the blacks start taking responsibility for their actions without looking for excuses. Whoa to Crown Heights for having such “concerned, caring, and friendly” politicians representing all members of their community!

I heard discussions of this on the Dov Hikind radio show & The Savage Nation last night. On the former they kept saying she is not speaking for herself but just saying what a lot of blacks think. This is a big cop-out! Michael Savage said it like it is – that this is a pogrom in Brooklyn mirroring the start of anti-Jewish violence that escalated into the Holocaust. He said she should step down as Councilwoman before she starts her term! I agree! This type of overt and classic anti-Semitism should not be gotten away with, but rather stopped in its tracks!
