THE TIMES OF ISRAEL (http://bit.ly/198799B) reports that the scrolls and artifacts were allegedly lifted back in March from the centuries-old Jobar synagogue that was badly damaged in a mortar attack.

Sources say the group currently said to be in possession of the items is affiliated with the Al-Nursa Front, a group linked to al-Qaeda and classified as a terrorist organization by the U.S.

Among the items reportedly being negotiated are 3-4 Torah scrolls, ancient Jewish scrolls and some silverware.

A source close to the situation said, “They took everything they could get their hands on. They want prisoners held by Assad [in exchange for them].

The Torah scrolls and other artifacts might be considered as a partial payment to Israel for the medical and humanitarian aid being provided to the Syrians.

I do not think they are interested in humanitarian aid. They just want the prisoners. We are not really dealing with rational people, (Maybe they will be in a good mood,)
    Who knows?
