JTA (http://bit.ly/1e2M2Tw) reports that the museum, named “The Palace of the Forgotten,” is located inside Albaicin’s Santa Ines palace and is part of any ongoing push to acknowledge Spain’s Sephardic heritage.

The museum features many Jewish household items obtained through archeological digs, as well as a restored mikvah bath from the 15th century.

Officials say they hope the museum will attract Isareli and North American tourists.

A bill has also been introduced that would grant Spanish citizenship to descendants of exiled Spanish Sephardic Jews.

While records vary, it is thought that between 5,000 and 20,000 Sephardic Jews called the region home before the Inquisition.

A little ambivalent about this plan. I mean, the Nazis, Ym”sh, had similar plans.

Just wondering, why aren’t there any inquisition deniers?
