“Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire”

Except that there is no more empire, there hasn’t been in almost a century. What they have is the small island nation, that’s ALL! Enjoy.

Actually, the entire British commonwealth, including countries like Canada, are still subjects of the British Queen and she is their titular Head of State.

This is indeed a great honor and makes a kiddush Hashem. It is interesting that the award comes from the non-Jewish British Queen to a Chareidi man for building bridges between communities snd cultures, whilst he probably gets spat upon by his co-religionists, even the higher-ups.
