THE NEW YORK POST (http://bit.ly/1g17l9f) reports that NYPD officials said that, while they still aren’t sure where, the man managed to get his black Dodge Charger onto the railroad tracks by 64th Street and Sixth Avenue, where, after getting it hung up, he abandoned it and fled on foot into the blackness of a tunnel.

An NYPD source said, “You can see his tire tracks. The driver got in down by the water. He was driving on the shoulder all the way until he got to these two pipes sticking up. That blocked him. Then he tried to drive up onto the tracks to get around and got hung up on the rail.”

Cops managed to apprehend the man shortly thereafter, and took him to the 72nd Precinct for questioning.

While the man’s name has not been released, officials said they don’t believe he was part of any terror plot or that he intended any harm to anyone, but was rather “just a drunk guy.”

It makes no difference whether or not he was drunk, or that he was not a terrorist. There are a multitude of charges, which he should face, according to the NY State Penal Code (i.e. Driving While Intoxicated, Destruction of Public Property, Resisting Arrest, Creating a Public Panic, etc.). If in fact he was a member of the military, after he completes his jail time in the civilian courts, he should be turned over to the military authorities. I’m sure that they will be delighted to deal with that miscreant.

If the guy drank some and is not a terrorist , he should be sent to mandatory detox. I don’t think he deserves punishment , unless he harmed someone.

To #5 -“Ikleinit” It just so happens, that I served honorably (during wartime), in the Armed Forces of the United States, before you were even born! I served proudly as an American Jew. Therefore, how dare you call me a “yellow belly coward”! Did you ever serve your country in uniform? The point that I was trying to make in my posting, is that nobody should receive a free pass for breaking the law, especially those in uniform. Next time, you should check your facts, before expounding your unfounded and unsubstantiated allegations!

Just because a man is wearing the uniform of a Marine, does not mean that he is necessarily a current or former member of the Armed Forces. There are plenty of wanna-be’s out there who like to dress up in the uniform, complete with awards and decorations to which they aren’t entitled, but who are either no longer in the service, or else never had been to begin with.

Go ogle for “Hall of Stolen Valor” for some of the more egregious imposters.
