New York, NY – Cops Think Overseas Hitmen May Have Been Involved In Stark Murder; Minivan Had Ohio Plates

    59

FILE - The casket holding the body of Menachem Stark is seen at the funeral in Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, NY Saturday night Jan. 4, 2013 (Shmuel Lenchevsky/VINnews.com) New York, NY – Less than a week after Williamsburg landlord Menachem Stark was kidnapped and murdered, cops say calls with tips are now pouring in thanks to the increase in reward money put up by the Stark family—among them, tips placing at least one of the hitmen in and around the Williamsburg area as early as December 19.

The NEW York POST (http://bit.ly/1a128xj) is reporting that sources close to the investigation say that cops have determined that the minivan used in the abduction is a silver Dodge Caravan with Ohio plates.

The source added that police suspect a third suspect may have aided in Star’s abduction, remaining in the van and serving as a getaway driver.

Since the Stark family upped the reward to $25K, cops are saying that descriptions provided by tipsters are leading investigators to believe that the hit men are foreign.

The descriptions “led us to believe that the suspects are not American,” one source said. “They could be from out of the country, maybe Europe.”

Another source said Stark’s wife told investigators she noticed a mini-van similar to the one used in the abduction parked close to the family home a week-or-so prior to the hit.

Again with the Post! Why would the cops leak info to the Post when a murder is under investigation? beats me.

Sounds pretty interesting. I hope they catch them. Also, his wife said she saw a van like that one parked by their house the week before. For real? A van? In Brooklyn? I’ve never seen that

Trying to cover up the police work from that area. Wait and see….. the plot thickens

This week the Post ran a dirty article against former Gov. Elliot Spitzer, which was later found to be a total fabrication. Mr. Spitzer wasn’t even in the place at the time the so called story happened. Their source? an unnamed 10-year-old boy that claimed what he saw.

The NY Observer writes the following regarding the story: ome raised questions how they buy stories from a 10 year old boy….

So here we go, this NY Ghost are a bunch of kids, liars, and when whenever they get a tip from someone (read Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, Etc) they will claim they got it from the police, insider, detective, to make it look more real.

The idea that the detectives are not good enough to solve this is silly. The internet is full of armchair detectives that base any and all of their tips on some TV shows and movies they watched.

I do think that everyone thou should share ideas to help solve and not assume the cops already thought of it. After all they must be under extreme pressure when trying to solve homicide.

My post here will focus on things that are tedious but right now is the time for LE to act on any of those ideas.

One: They say duct tape was used as well as they found zip ties. Could it be they purchased it locally at a store that sells both? Could it be that store can easily do a database search to see who purchased both of these items together and try to get a date and time and use store frottage or area footage to get more info?

Two: If these killer came from out of town and we assume its two, could there be a database search on all tickets that were sold in pairs of 2 to 2 males that came from the county or countries suspected?

Three: Furthermore, if you narrow things down you can use airport footage to get more info on where they went, what car they went into upon arrival.

Four: To the person who said “well it must of been a stolen car”, well this is a murder investigation, you dont walk around assuming anything. What is the car was not stolen and the plates where? And even if it was stolen you still want to locate the car for potential evidence collection and talk to the person who his car or plates where stolen maybe that can lead to more info.

Five: Check all gas station camera footage of the days leading up to the murder and right after. Could it be they filed up gas? Would this take huge amounts of time? Sure, but this is a murder investigation and im sure the shomrim and others can dedicate a huge amount of people to sit and watch footage. Every video must be looked at twice by 2 different people. The first station footage to look at is the footage by where the body was found. The key is to look on all footage they have for the past 5 days leading up to the murder.

Six: Did these people maybe use the van to go get say fast food? Again, very tedious to look thru but to solve a mystery you must do everything you can and thankfully I am sure the shomrim would be able to dedicate the manpower needed to shift thru the footage. The cops can’t just call up 300 cops to just look into this case.

Seven: The day that this happened and the 24 hours after. Get a list of all calls that went from that area to any country you suspect, the news only said Europe but im sure they must have more info. This would include viber, skype etc as well.

Eight: If they were not from here they needed a method, directions to get around. Did someone use an online mapping system to google that address or a nearby address? Did someone search for directions to that area using their phone etc? If so what IP or other identifier did it come from etc.

Nine: Check all emails that left the USA to an outside country carrying the link to the news story that was mentioned in the news here. If they did the work for someone not in the USA they might of sent a link to them. Obviously it could be innocent but like I said this is a murder investigation you must try everything.

Ten: do a global search on what phones pinged the area towers that night but kept pinging different towers, in other words you narrow down those on the move.

Do they know something? Is the Police setting this up for failure, why?

The New York Post must never be mentioned or quoted again. We must begin this important policy decision immediately. It now ranks below the National Inquirer. Journalism will henceforth be immensely improved.

How about a picture of the deceased Max that may have been texted or emailed overseas for identification confirmation by the murderers after the hit.
Maybe we should flood the area around the crime scene with flyers announcing the rewards in Spanish and other languages.
Maybe we should offer the NyPd manpower to review

the NSA files, they may find some conversations alluding to the crime.
The federal government has been good at it.

If you call the NYPD and report a suspicious vehicle, nine out of ten times the police will arrive very late if they come at all. The cops are afraid to use their guns and are afraid of getting shot for their inability to know how to deal with this situation. The result is, that organizations like the Russian Mafia can now operate freely with vehicles without worrying about the NYPD searching their vehicle. This is because the laws regarding automobile searches are so slanted toward the vehicle owners that the cops are left pretty much without any options except to look inside the vehicle with their naked eyes and see if there is anything exposed. The cops cannot randomly pull someone over to search their car on a tip, and they are afraid to rely on probably cause to search based upon a phone call of ‘suspicion’. The truth is, is that if the person who reports the car is descriptive enough about the length of time the car is standing in one spot a nd there are other suspicious things about the vehicle such as tinted windows, there is definitely probable cause to search. COPS TODAY ARE IGNORANT OF THE LAW because all they see are Court reversals SO THEY DO NOTHING!

The picture of the silver minivan that they showed doesn’t seem to have the windshield wipers of the caravan. If I correctly recall, the Caravan has one wiper on the driver side and one in the middle. The photograph shows snow cleared off the windshield with what seems to me as wipers that come from opposite sides of the windshield. I hope the detectives know what they’re doing and can properly analyze their vehicles.

According to recent reports that the NSA records all telephone conversations in the USA, this case should be solved in no time, they just need to search their records for that specific day. Anyone here work for the NSA??? Lets go!!!

I am just wondering, is there a heimishe group conducting an independent investigation of this crime? Perhaps VIN should post their contact information, some people don’t trust the law enforcement agencies.

this whole story is creeping me out. the thought of a young man being suffocated to death is just plain so horrible. it is simply so wrong my mind and heart have a difficult I’m coming to grips with it. and the worst part is not knowing who did it nor why. Mr Stark aHome I didn’t know did not deserve this no one deserves this no matter all his shortcomings this is not the way things should be handled. I can only hope they find these brutal killers as well as the people for hire the and punish them an eye for an eye.
