The city could see up to 9 inches of snow fall through Wednesday before another round of chilly winter weather hits the area this weekend.

Snowfall should begin before 3 a.m., in addition to sleet and freezing rain until at about 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Winter storm warnings were issued from midnight to 6 p.m. for the New York metro area, northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and most of upstate New York. Snowfall totals in the upstate area could range from 10 inches in Buffalo to 20 inches or more in parts of the Southern Tier and Hudson Valley.

The city just endured a winter storm on Monday that left 8 inches of snow.

In a press conference on Monday Mayor Bill de Blasio stated that NYC residents should prepare for a cold and icy week.

Alternate side parking rules have been suspended and trash and recycling operations will be delayed.

Con Ed says residents should be prepared for possible area outages, as the mix of snow and freezing rain could cause trees and limbs to fall on power lines

Residents should stay away from downed power lines and report them and outages at Con Ed’s website or at 1-800-75-CONED.
