JTA.org (http://bit.ly/1gb6OTH) reports that Alper’s letter sought permission from Polish veterinarians to use electricity to stun some 250 cows before slaughtering them, a violation of shechitah according to chief rabbi Michael Schudrich.

“Stunning cannot be used in shechitah, and saying it was used is a very serious mistake,” Schudrich said. “What he has written is completely unacceptable and he has been suspended from his position pending an investigation.”

Schudrich has been embroiled in his own controversy as of late after Poland’s Channel 1 said it has evidence that the kosher slaughter ritual is still being carried out in certain instances in violation of the January 2013 law prohibiting it.

why lie? In addition, it only gets you in trouble and will make it only harder to reverse the law against shechitah.
