Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the route will run from Riis (REES) Landing in Far Rockaway, Queens, to the Brooklyn Army Terminal, and to Pier 11 on South Street in Manhattan.

The fare will be $6.

In July, New York Water Taxi also will re-launch East River ferry service linking Manhattan's Pier 11 and 34th Street to Long Island City, Queens, and South Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

I dont get it. This has been tried before but most people DONT want to pay for it. There is no doubt this is being subsidized for now. Perhaps in the beginning ppl will use it (MAYBE?!) but once the prices go up, its sayonara to this service.
