Some surviving victims of the attack, as well as family members and relatives of those murdered, attended the event along with the terror victims’ organization Chairman Tzvika Pozis-Shahak and Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Dov Kalmanovich.
The double car bombing took place on Ben Yehuda Street on February 22, 1948.
The event was a triumph for the victim’s group which struggled for years to secure the memorial dedication.
Speaking to the assemblage, According to ISRAELNATIONALNEWS.com (http://bit.ly/1mydDUP) Kalmanovich said, “The sign that was put here does not stop the race of life, however late because we were running the race of life and did not remember the dead enough… We’ve proven to everyone that we are victorious … It’s a pity for the victims but through their death, they commanded us to live.
What happened, they forgot about it until now?
