Brooklyn, NY - 20 years after 16 year-old Ari Halberstam was gunned down by an Arab man who opened fire on a van carrying Orthodox Jewish students near the Brooklyn Bridge, his mother Devorah says it is important to remember that Ari’s deaths was an act of “home-grown terrorism,” and that the pain she still feels is “intense.”
NEWYORK.CBSLOCAL.com (http://cbsloc.al/1mShn0i) reports that Devorah said on the 20th anniversary of Ari’s murder, ““We all miss him intensely; having miss him all the time.”
Ari was gunned down on March 1, 1994 near the Brooklyn Bridge when Lebanese-born Rashid Baz riddled the van Ari and his fellow students were traveling in while shouting “Kill the Jews!” in Arabic.
Ari and his friends were returning home at the time from visiting Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson at the Manhattan Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Devorah said the attack was home-grown terrorism, and a precursor to 9/11, while cautioning others to “remain vigilant.”
“It was with intent,” Devorah said. “It was deliberate as is a terrorist attack in order to make a political statement.”

If the USA would have banned firearems and institute the death penalty for murder like China does, then Ari and tens of thousands of murder victims would still be alive today!

In 2009, I went into a gift shop, on the ground floor of the Children's Museum on Eastern Parkway. The cashier who worked there, stated that she knew Ari Halberstam (z'l). The sick defense which the killer's Attorney used at his trial was that "he was traumatized by the events in the Middle East". The jury did not buy that nonsense; Rashid Baz will die in prison. However, it is too bad that he wasn't sent to a Super Maximum federal prison, where he would never see daylight again.

Those countries don't have the death sentence nor the resources to apprehend the murderers within 72 hours of the crime
