Nebech! A refuah schlema to this person, who was only trying to pump gas, at his gas station. It has been my experience, on numerous occasions to observe countless motorists incorrectly backing up. I don’t know what the driving schools have taught those incompetent drivers. I was always taught that when backing up, one must turn their heads and LOOK BACKWARDS, and not depend upon the rear view mirrors, which often have blind spots. In my community, I’ve experienced many near collisions, whereby careless drivers back out of their driveways quickly, without looking for oncoming traffic, in both directions. Even if a horn is honked at them to warn them of a pending collision, they don’t always stop.
