Washington – Aretha Franklin has much R-E-S-P-E-C-T for President Barack Obama — regardless of his spelling skills.

At a White House concert last Thursday, Obama dropped the initial “E” when trying to spell out “respect” as the queen of soul does in her famous song.
“I’m sure the President had much on his agenda and was just a little tired,” the 71-year-old singer said in a statement Monday.
The concert included Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Melissa Etheridge, Janelle Monae, Ariana Grande and Jill Scott.
Franklin says no offense was taken.
“The President and I are mutual when it comes to R-E-S-P-E-C-T,” she said.
When it comes to president Bush or any republican president this is a huge story of an embarrassment and ridicule but when it is president Obama he gets a pass for “having so many things on his agenda” or whatever her is doing there
I’m not saying that we all have to pounce on this and ridicule the president because any person can have a “moment” but why can’t this be granted to other presidents not in line with the leftist views??
typical. they would have ripped Bush for a week had he done this
If the worst the Obama haters (or the Quayle haters, or the Bush haters, etc., etc.) come up with is some mis-speaks/verbal typos, then these leaders are probably doing a good job.
I’m sure because the smartest man in the room (yeah right! ) spelld it that way, Miriam Webster will officially change the “correct” spelling to Obama’s mess up.
At least he didn’t move the clock backwards.
He spelled it correctly in Ebonics.
Whats the dif if he cant spell it – he doesnt know what the word means anyhow
No TelePrompTer. They have it by karaoke
Please, the jokes about Obama being stupid is just lazy and wrong.
The guy mis-spoke. He has actually accomplished a fair bit academically (i.e. editor of Harvard Law Review) and you can tell that he is intelligent when you listen to him speak. You may not agree with his viewpoints, but he’s certainly no dummy!
P.s. I voted for his opponent in both elections. I’m just being honest here.
