   First of all, the halacha in Shulchan Aruch Hoshen Mishpat 338 is very clear that in a case of rodef that one must report him to the authorities (see also Rema there and other commentaries). Clearly this guy has the din of a rodef. This post fails to mention that one of the children beaten is in a vegetative state and unlikely to ever recover r"l. Secondly, if this "witness" was concerned about being a moser, then why mention anything Chen going to Brazil?

   i would guess that the witness probably only realized who he had met on the plane AFTER they arrived and saw the news story. At that point he could ask all the proper halachic authorities how to go about handling the sensitive information he possessed.

Do you need to be a R'Moshe Feinstein to know that you have to report this animal to the police? If you see a woman drowning, you would first go ask a shayla if you're allowed to save her?    One cannot believe everything one hears in the news. I would not turn in anyone from things I heard about him in the news. News is likely to be exaggerated, totally false etc. Only if i witness something myself would I believe it is true. From hearsay, I don't believe anything. However if the man were truly not guilty of any wrong doing why is he fleeing the country? He must have done something or else he is afraid of the anti chareidi court in Israel.

   He flew from Toronto because he came in through Montreal. The Quebec police were on his trail but missed him by a couple days. He will probably flee Brazil for Argentina soon.
