DNAinfo New York (http://dnain.fo/1hawG0i) reports transfers include a new superior for detectives in Manhattan and Brooklyn and the Bronx will receive a third chief.
Most of the transfers will take place in police precincts, borough commands, training units and operational units.
Bratton began to implement big changes within the department earlier this year when Internal Affairs head Charles Campisi and Chief of Detectives Philip Pulaski retired. Both were former lieutenants of previous Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
Chief Joanne Jaffe was replaced by Bronx Patrol Chief Carlos Gomez and moved to run the Community Affairs Bureau, Chief Lawrence Nikunen was commanding officer over detectives in Manhattan but is expected to transfer to The Bronx, and former head of security Brian Burke will be seated in the Detective Bureau under Robert Boyce, Pulaski’s replacement.
Hopefully there will be change in the 66. Ask any Shomrim guy or cop. The response= DEDO is a 4 letter word
NYPD is too top heavy. They should retire at least 80% of them.
