Williamsburg, NY - New Superintendent Of State Police Visits The Jewish Community
Willimasburg, NY - Newly-appointed New York State Police Superintendent Harry Corbitt was invited by Sen. Eric Adams at a ceremony party held last night to congratulate him on his appointment by Governor David Paterson and welcomed him to his new position as head of the New York State Police and its more than 7,000 sworn members and 1,000 civilian staff.
The superintendent gave a visit the Grand Rebbe of the Satmar Hasidic sect of Williamsburgh, Rabbi Zalman Teitelbaum, at the spiritual leader’s private residence at 550 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn.
the Superintendent arrived at Rabbi Teitelbaum’s residence, where he was greeted by the Grand Rebbe and other community leaders of the satmar community. and was presented with a celebration plaque.
He also gave a visit with Rabbi Mendel Titelbaum the son of Grand Rabbi Aaron Titelbaum Satmar Rabbi of Kiryas Joel, NY, where he was greeted by community leaders.
Superintendent Corbitt received the special traditional blessing from the rabbis and community, who wished him the best of luck and success in all future endeavors.
Rabbi Bernard Freilich, special assistant to the NY State Police, accompanied the superintended on the entire visit.
