On its web site (http://bit.ly/1mSSBiQ) the clinic posted the study, conducted by Dr. Brian Morris, a professor emeritus in the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney, in Sydney, Australia, along with colleagues in Florida and Minnesota in the U.S., found that 50% of all uncircumcised males will contract an adverse medical condition caused by their uncircumcised foreskin during their lifetime.

The study also found that the rate of circumcision among U.S. men has increased from 79 to 81 percent over the last ten years.

Dr. Morris said that, due to the study’s findings, medical professionals, health insurers, and policy makers should now be viewing infant male circumcision the same way they do childhood vaccinations.

Morris said, “The new findings now show that infant circumcision should be regarded as equivalent to childhood vaccination and that as such it would be unethical not to routinely offer parents circumcision for their baby boy. Delay puts the child’s health at risk and will usually mean it will never happen.”

The Torah wouldn’t have commanded it if it was risky.
Though health is clearly not the reason for our circumcision.

Number 1. I actually feel bad for you. The mitzvah of Milah is our source of “zreezim makdimim limitzvos”. You, in your haste and hatred of anything Religious, pose under the guise of enlightenment, and rush to be the first commentator. You wish to set the agenda of the conversation. To steer it away from its obvious positive connotations and to create non existent evil out of good. You are pathetic. I sincerely wish that you do Teshuva. a

We really don’t need Mayo Clinic nor anyone else to approve of anything that the Torah tells us…

I don’t know how prestigious Mayo is if they would publish this. One of the main numbers is wholly inaccurate. The rate of infant circumcision in the US is presently 55%, not 77%.
