Flatbush, NY - Indictment In Bar Mitzvah Social Worker Abuse Case |

Flatbush, NY - Kings County District Attorney Charles J. Hynes today announced the indictment of Yona. W, 29, a Flatbush Bar Mitzvah tutor and licensed social worker charged with abusing four male students, one of which was a client.
The victims range in age from 12 to 14 and some were W. students, from the Khal Beth Abraham synagogue, where W. gave Bar Mitzvah lessons. Other victims include clients from W. work as a licensed social worker for the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services.
Initially only two victims reported abuse, but the investigation revealed two additional victims.
An indictment is an accusatory instrument and not proof of a defendant’s guilt. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison.

This is truly upsetting. Initially there were a lot of denials, and I was hoping maybe it wouldn't be true, but 2 additional (not totaling 4) cases does not speak well for innocence. How troubling.

D.A. Hynes is a horrible District Attorney, and he stinks at his job. The fact that he got this indictment is irrelevant as if probably didn't have anything to do with it anyway, it was one of his ADA's. As opposed to the grand jury he convened on the Shmira attack, something he has personally pledged to see to the end.
The problem is when he DOES actively intervene in any situation (the Kolko deal, CH) he just does a miserable job.

As a proud Jew, I cringe a little bit every time I read one of our own accused of such misdoings. Even though he wa adopted, I remember my disgust/shame at the fact that Son of Sam David Berkowitz was raised as a Jew. Nonetheless, DA Hynes is right to pursue justice even when the accused is one of our own. Those that choose to hate him for that are in a terrible state of denial. Hynes is an equal opportunity prosecutor. He has aggressively prosecuted ALL people that are guilty or believed to be guilty of a crime. Before you decide he picks on Jews, consider that blacks think that he picks onBlacks becaause of his prosecution of Clarence Norman Jr and Diane Gordon, and Italians think he picks on them because of Howard Beach. Hynes has been a terrific prosecutor.
Justice, justice, thou shalt pursue.

People people this happening every day I hate to say but its the fact open your eyes now when you still have the time to save kids I have seen it all the only way to stop this is to press tour kids ask them every day what happened in school or with the babysitter or the nextdoor neighbor! Ask your kids you'll save them from what I and 100.s other Jewish kids have gone through save save save ASK!!!

Whatever the truth is, it's scary. Either this "upstanding" looking Jew is living a double life and is a child molester, or there are four fabricators and their parents who are plotting to destroy an innocent Jew. Nothing good can come out of this.
