Brooklyn, NY - Police Commissioner Kelly Made Surprised Visit to Crown Heights
Kelly arrived in the neighborhood at about 10 PM He didn’t say much but listned to their grievances and to stories from victims who were attacked in the past. Following a short stop over the Beis Shmuel synagogue he left the neighborhood.
Some residents so far are satisfied with the increase of patrolmen on the streets, one can see a police officer on every corner of the blocks. But others caution against being overly enthusiastic “they are just here to decorate the Commissioner’s visit and in the coming days you won’t se them here anymore.”
Rabbi Yosi Jacobson was in middle of his weekly shiur with the members of his congregation Beis Shmuel. and unexpectedliy Commissioner Kelly walked in.
Rabbi Jacobson complained to the Commissioner about the lack of security in the neighborhood to which the Commissioner retorted that he had worked in this neighborhood many years ago and the neighborhood is much safer today than it was 10-20 years ago. “If you ask me if that is perfect, I will so no, problems will always pop up here and there.”
Jacobson replied: One of the Nazis that was put on trial for war crimes told the American judge that if he would have known that 6 million Jews would have been killed in the war he would not have participated in it because he intended on killing only one Jew.” The judge who didn’t like the answer said, “the moment you take the life of one innocent person there is no difference between one and six million.”
Kelly did not like the comparison and responded angrily: “C’mon don’t give me that, don’t tell me things have not improved. Tell me where there is one other state that will give you the protection you are getting here.”
Rabbi Jacobson immediately tried to calm things down and said “we thank you and pray that you utilize the power that G-d gave you protect the residents of this neighborhood.”

What nerve Ray Kelly has to downplay all of the horrific incidents as "things pop up here and there."
If it happened to his relative he would be outraged at what's going on.
In the Jewish community we are all brothers (even brothers fight sometimes). You hurt one, you hurt all.

Why does it take 50 bullets for the police department to do its job? Why are the police in constant fear of retribution? The police department should bestow authority, respect, and fear on the criminal elements, which are overwhelmingly ready to take advantage of us.

And where did all the begging and pleading get us till now? He wasn't comparing America to Nazi's.
He was comparing the criminals, who's aim it is to kill us, to a Nazi wanting to kill "only one Jew".

Rabbi Jacobson and the other shul members spoke well and told the commissioner about all the incidents included the Bais Shmuel member that got attacked by stones as he walked out of shul this past shabbos, and the school bus in which a stone barely missed a sleeping kindergarden child. In all the incidents the police did not catch anyone, which makes them think they can get away with more. We have to speak out strongly, people are scared to let their children out of the house!
