Brooklyn, NY - A 27 year old Flatbush resident was arrested yesterday after allegedly making unwanted advances against a teenage girl.

Moshe Shemtov, of 1800 Ocean Parkway, was charged with forcible touching and acting in a manner injurious to a child, according to Police.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon on the sidewalk in front of 4640 Bay Parkway, just over a mile and a half from Shemtov’s home.  Police received a 911 call reporting the incident at 12:30 PM yesterday and Shemtov was arrested one hour later in front of 1350 E5th Street.

Shemtov is expected to appear before a Brooklyn judge tomorrow.

No, it's not "just lashon hara". When a person is a threat to our children it is permissible to publicize it, so that they can protect themselves.

Why are you more concerned about whether or not something is lashon hara, than whether or not a young girl was hurt?

#1- Certainly this in NOT Lashon Hara. It is a mitzva to publicize this so that people know to watch out for the molester. Also the evildoers know they will be shamed and will not do it. It's important to educate your children and teens about inappropriate touch. Unfortunately these stories are usually swept under the rug and children suffer their whole life. Congrats to VINNEWS for being the only frum news site to report this.

how are people supposed to protect their children if one does not get the know known (in this case accused ) criminals.

Why only in a case like this, what about a person who is defrauding people should we be quiet and allow the person to to defraud more people?

So you think that because someone suspects him of molestation, a fact he is innocent of until proven guilty, we should ruin his "shemtov" indefinitely? How would you like to be falsely accused by someone and then have the whole community "know" you to be a molester? I'm not saying he didn't so it. I'm just saying that this is an unproven allegation which most definitely does fall within the parameters of Lashon Hora.

Olam hafuch! (Upside down world) for example, take the issur (prohibition) of Mesira (the action in which one Jew reports the conduct of another Jew to non Jewish authorities) if you see someone forcing a girl to znus you're clearly obligated by Jewish law to report him or even lhatziloi bnafshoi.. as opposed to financial matters and disputes you're clearly forbidden to give over to secular courts, but that you'll see big rebbis committing this mesira on their own brothers... Same goes for loshon hora etc! Olam hafuch!!

The Dark Ages should be over, but for some people, it's not. In the Dark Ages, people were presumed guilty simply by having an accusation leveled against them.
However, in this regard, the world has made progress. We believe that a person is innocent until proven guilty. A mere accusation is just that. It's easy to accuse. Some people don't even wait to hear the evidence. They condemn this man based on nothing more than an accusation. Shame on you.

Wrong about just touching the arm. Where do you make this stuff up? The articles state he touched her genital area. Maybe you were taught that is an arm. I will teach you the right way---an arm is attached to a shoulder.
