    Isn’t this just lashon hara?

Major lushen hora this should not get in the news now. It’s enough that he was caught and arrested.

    Maybe…
    Maybe not…
Why don’t you discuss this shailo with your Ruv and then let us “internet poiskim” know what he said.

P.S. Don’t you think you would want to be warned if you lived near him and had a teenage daughter? Point is – don’t be frum oif yenem’s cheshbon!

    What is wrong with people?

No, it’s not “just lashon hara”. When a person is a threat to our children it is permissible to publicize it, so that they can protect themselves.

Why are you more concerned about whether or not something is lashon hara, than whether or not a young girl was hurt?

#1 - Certainly this in NOT Lashon Hara. It is a mitzva to publicize this so that people know to watch out for the molester. Also the evildoers know they will be shamed and will not do it. It’s important to educate your children and teens about inappropriate touch. Unfortunately these stories are usually swept under the rug and children suffer their whole life. Congrats to VINNEWS for being the only frum news site to report this.

Standing ovation to you VIN news for not being intimidated by the haters and the likes of self appointed people from London that feel they can decide what’s good for the news or not!

Kudos to you for keeping the community up-to-date and SAFE when we have such a story in the community so we know to watch our children. You guys are doing amazing work and should be proud of the help you give for this community!

U are all wrong !!!! It’s not loshon hara….it’s pure mozei Shem ra….spreading a false report about someone. until it is proven in court or Beis din that he did in fact commit the sin, he has a chezkas kashrut , and it’s wrong , ossur, prohibited to spread or publicize anything about this man.

At this point it’s sure pure loshon hurrah
We gotta wait for the court and evidence

There is never evidence in any of such cases.

The Dark Ages are over, except in certain communities. Making arrests public information is a deterrent to the animals out there who prey in children. If found innocent, he’s innocent. But at least everyone is on alert.

You think the NYC police have nothing better to do than arrest someone without a reason???? The charge is that it happened on the STREET in a public place. Hello. Everyone should be warned to be on guard.

Yes! I got news for ye.. it’s lushen hura! Unless you got two people coming across against this man

Most of the Rabbonim said we are not allowed to use the internet. My Ruv says it’s fine as long as we don’t watch porn. Why are you all commenting if you aren’t allowed to be on?

Every single person talking about loshon hara is most likely a lowlife and-or pervert. Anyone involved with pervs knows this. This guy is a perv and it needs to be publicized.

I don’t think this is loson hora.
Let the perpetrators who could be looking for your children next know that they will publicized and arrested.

The amount of frum people who are more disturbed by the potential harm to the perpetrators and who apathy toward the victims is sickening.

To all those who feel that this is loshon hora or motzi shem ra: how would you react if it was your child that was raped or molested???

If this is not classified as loshan hora , because it is useful information so that we can protect ourselves and our children. Then every case of loshan hora can be justified for the same reason. We can always find a reason why this loshan hora is useful for us. So when would loshan hora be forbidden?

Olam hafuch! (Upside down world) for example, take the issur (prohibition) of Mesira (the action in which one Jew reports the conduct of another Jew to non Jewish authorities) if you see someone forcing a girl to znus you’re clearly obligated by Jewish law to report him or even lhatziloi bnafshoi.. as opposed to financial matters and disputes you’re clearly forbidden to give over to secular courts, but that you’ll see big rebbis committing this mesira on their own brothers… Same goes for loshon hora etc! Olam hafuch!!

It is a always a chiyuv to report and publicize such allegations…..the balancing of risks dictates that such incidents cannot be trusted to a beis din or simply reported to some Rav….

The Chofetz Chaim which is the most stringent authority on hilchos loshon hora, allows one to talk loshon hora letoeles. Even if you just use the sinner, to give a bad example is also considered letoeles, kal vchomer if you do it to save other kids from being raped…. Also I strongly agree with all above comments that are expressing how scary it is that people are more concerned about loshon hora than the safety of our kids….
