The site is viewed as the burial place of David, King of Israel, according to a tradition beginning in the 12th century. May 01, 2014. Photo by FLASH90Jerusalem – Fanning the flames of already-existing rumors about a secret deal being engineered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that would turn David’s Tomb over to the Vatican, a Knesset member on Thursday said that Chief Sephardic Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef has admitted that he has been asked for permission by the PM’s office to make the deal.

ISRAELNATIONALNEWS.com (http://bit.ly/1mhwVtq) reports that the Knesset member made the statement while accompanying four MKs on a tour of the site.

Recent reports have been circulating pointing to a “secret negotiation” ongoing between the Israeli government and the Vatican over David’s Tomb, the second floor of which the Vatican refers to as “The Room of the Last Supper.”

Deputy Minister Ze’ev Elkin took to the floor of the Knesset to deny the rumors, but speculation has been furthered fueled by the government’s decision to place authority over the holy sites exclusively in the hands of Netanyahu’s office.

Before readers get bent out of shape on this, there has been considerable debate among the experts in mekomos hakedoshim whether the identified Kever Dovid is authentic. There are many who are convinced it is elsewhere in the vicinity, and have identified that location. It is accessible. Certain Gedolei Yisroel go only to this other location, accepting the opinion that the popular Kever Dovid is not the real one. The mesora from the Ari Z”L does not authenticate the currently known Kever Dovid.

Give the Vatican a good deal on the rent for the second floor, but why would we turn over the entire building to them? Makes no sense.

Its time to pray that this deal should fail… and i’m talking to jews who believe that דוד מלך ישראל חי וקים, and to surrender him to the biggest טומאה in the world, will hurt him, us and its time to pray!!!

It was bad enough with the Muslems wanting what is ours, now we are giving up rights to the Christians… this deal should not be accepted.

It states clearly in Tanach Melochim “vayikover b’ir Dovid” and this site is in har zion not ir Dovid. So this place is in all probability not kever Dovid Hamelech. Having said that, it clearly is a jewish place of prayer that yidden davened there for hundreds of years and must have been built by yidden since the window and the direction to which you face when davening is towards the har habayis & beis hamikdosh (not towards Mecca) , A holy place (or any piece of land in E. Yisroel) shouldn’t be given to goyim. There is a story that the satmar rov zt”l once discussed with the Beis Yisroel of ger zt”l if this is kever Dovid or not the Beis Yisroel replied “a meter up or a meter down in Bedford Avenue it is definitely not”

Perhaps the Vatican should have the temple mount as there was a church there also after all the Palestinians have been taking over their holy sites where they have control

If Frank is smart, and he has given every indication he is, he won’t have anything to do with that group.
