Queens, NY - A portion of the Rockaways is without power.
LIPA said that power is out to that portion of the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens that it serves. About 60,000 customers are with out power in that are. There are also reports of outages as well in southwestern Nassau County. LIPA says it doesn't know the nature of the problem.
Also there is no A train service in both directions between the Howard Beach-JFK Airport Station and the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue/Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street Stations, due to the to a temporary loss of electrical power in the Rockaways.
