Moscow – Vladimir Putin met with rabbis from several countries Wednesday, including rabbis from Israel, Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and France, to discuss anti-Semitism and the struggle against neo-Nazism and xenophobia.

Kremlin.ru (http://bit.ly/1neJSXY) reports Putin discussed the fight of Jewish people during WWII and the struggle that still exists today regarding anti-Semitism. He recalled his visit to Yad Vashem in Israel – a Holocaust museum – and also mentioned the Museum of Tolerance in Moscow.
Putin relayed to the delegation that he intends to never forget and cherish the memories of those lost during the Holocaust, and prevent the recurrence of such a tragedy.

He seems to have developed a liking to the jewish people especially the last few years. Could be a strategy to invite the jewish people back to Russia in order to build up the country through their contributions. We all know that the countries that had the jewish nation as a big part of their inhabitants, were known to be very successful and vice versa.

Rabbi lazar grand rabbi from USSR was asked by rabbi miesels (Limenuver ruv from williamsburg) at a conference in London how come he got so close to Putin? he told him that Putin told him when he was a child he was not very good in school he got bad marks. his next door neighbor was a Jewish family and as a kid they played together out side and in there house they where very friendly. when the Jewish parents helped there children with home work they offered him that will help him too and so they did. (Putin’s parents did not help him at all). since then he started getting very good marks on his tests and it gave him the big push to succeed in education. this got him to high school and then to collage. he said he always felt that he has to pay back something to the Jews. because the reason he got to to this level is thanks to the Jews and this got him close to rabbi lazar and to the rest of the Jewish community.
