PALMBEACHPOST.com (http://bit.ly/1zylOEO) reports that New York physician Dr. Lisa Rosenberg said that, just prior to departure, she concluded a private phone conversation with a friend over the current events in Israel when the fellow passenger identified herself as a Palestinian and initiated an “ugly, racially driven altercation.”

“A woman comes up to me and says to me ‘I’m a Palestinian,’ and she starts cursing at me. ‘Zionist pig. This is just the beginning,'” Rosenberg told WPBF.com (http://bit.ly/1ybTSVt).

Rosenberg, whose daughter plans to study in Israel next year, claims she said nothing disparaging about Palestinians during her phone conversation with friend, Obstetrician Myles Kobren, but was instead complimenting Israeli authorities over the way they have handled recent arrests in connection with the murder of a Palestinian teenager.

“I was saying how it was good Israel found the students that killed the Palestinian teenager and how it was exemplary not making them into heroes, but seeking to publicly try them. I said any other country would have made these students out to be martyrs and celebrating them,” Rosenberg said.

Rosenberg said she was told by Jet Blue staff shortly thereafter that she must de-board the plane because the Palestinian passenger did not feel comfortable flying with her.

“I can’t believe it. I said, ‘Why would you do that?’ I said, ‘Why don’t you have her leave the plane?'” Rosenberg said. “I said, ‘The passenger, the Palestinian passenger, didn’t feel comfortable with me, the Jewish doctor being on the plane?'”

Reps for Jet Blue refused comment other than to say that Rosenberg’s account of the story “in no way reflects the report that we have.”

Rosenberg said she believes she is victim of a hate crime and has been in contact with the Anti-Defamation League who has promised to investigate the matter.

    100 million $$ law suit……………..

This ugly incident would not have occurred at all, if the Doctor was not speaking on her cell phone, onboard the aircraft. I don’t like to sit in the enclosed space of a commercial aircraft, and hear people speaking loudly about their personal business. Cell phones on planes should be banned not only during flight, but also prior to the flight. Was this conversation such an emergency that it couldn’t have waited? In 2009, while on an Air Tran flight (one of the worst airlines in the business) at LaGuardia, I couldn’t hear the Captain’s announcements, because the inconsiderate passenger in front of me, was also talking very loudly on her cell phone. When I shushed her, she started glaring at me. The flight attendant had to ask her several times to turn the cell phone off. The attendants should have confiscated her cell phone, until after she arrived at her destination.

Good luck to you, Dr. Rosenberg. The only way to stop this ongoing stupidity is to fight back. Go after Jet-Blue…this isn’t just about your case. If we don’t stop this here, it will only get worse, r”l.

its important to have everyone call Jet Blue CEO and demand an iternal investigation or get the Airline shot down the company.

May Hashem protect all jews on potential hate crimes that this jewish Dr may cause! What a Chillul Hashem! I expect common sense from any Jew not to be so incompetent, and of all people a Dr? How dumb is this Dr. Lisa Rosenberg? In this particular incident, it does not matter whether the Dr. praised Israel for the arrested of the jewish teens for killing the Palestinian teenager or she was cheering on Israel for its Gaza bombings in a public place where dozens of people can hear you when it is clear that most of the world hates Israel and many hate jews in general. Does she discuss what goes on behind closed doors in public as well? If I had ti guess I’d say no. This incident just shows how dumb she is and if you are sick and want to die, she is probably the perfect Dr. to see you, as she likely buries her mistakes. May Hashem protect all Jews from such incompetent dumb jews without any common sense

You must speak their language. Money.
Go after them with a massive lawsuit and expose them for what they did.
Forget the ADL. They have their own agenda and will steer you for political statements.

Watch out for the terrorists being given free service while the righteous are kicked out of the sky. Absurd story. I hope jet blue really does something to fix this very ugly story. It does not sound like this jewish woman was seeking any confrontation. Is this anti-semitism from the airline provider? How horrible.

I have reason to believe it wasn’t just the palestinian woman….cuz then any nutcase can do the same thing to another fellow traveller. This was jet blue who had an issue with a Jew(ish Dr) flying with them. I’m very surprised at jet blue…unless this is only half. A story and the Dr said things she is now denying….we don’t know. Jet blue is American and should have no issue with reg passengers. Something is missing here.

    Dr. Lisa Rosenberg,
Good for you!! We can not allow these things to go unreported! We must speak out! We must get them where it hurts most! Their pockets!! Never again!! Sue the airlines for this atrocity!!
However we all must realize what Hashem wants from us. We should not get to comfortable living here in America!! We are after all in Galus, and we have to all raise up our voices and beseech Hashem to take us out of this Galus!!
May Moshiach come speedly in our days!!!

If it is true that she made disparaging and hateful remarks about a group of people on a plane that can be overheard, its only logical that a member of that group would feel threatened and Jet Blue was right to throw her off the plane. Next time, keep you mouth shut or save your conversation until the plane lands.

I’m not buying into the good Doctors story so fast. Reality is that you don’t just get booted off planes. I say we go for a second opinion.

Abusers abuse – they don’t need a reason to do so – they give reasons so they don’t have to blame themselves for the way they are acting. And so it is with anyone else who wishes to hurt others, in any way. They choose a reason to give for the acts they wish to do, and blame the victim because “he did something that made me do this”. We have to remember it is only the abuser’s fault the way the abuser acts; it is only the terrorists’ fault they way they act. No matter what they say in their own defense.

Next time speak quietly or in privacy….not everyone hasta hear all you have to say. It’s sought of a fad to speak loud in public places. Could be the palestinian woman thought she spoke against them.

To #’s 9, 15, 29 & 33, 34- I have the right not to be annoyed by someone’s loud cell phone conversations in public. Air Tran had previously told that person twice to put her cell phone away. She ignored the flight attendant, and it was impossible to hear what the Captain was saying. FAA regulations mandate that passengers listen to the pilot’s safety instructions. It was only this past Shabbos at a Shalosh Seudot that I had to tell someone to speak in a lower tone. It seems that some people are not happy unless they shout at everyone around them. Loud sounds bother many people.
To #6 , 17, & 18- You are 100% correct. The esteemed Doctor should have kept her opinions to herself, and not aired them in front of goyim, who may be hostile to EY. Next time, she will think twice before repeating such a stunt! I have no sympathy with her being given the boot. Airline crews, post 9/11, have almost unlimited discretion to kick someone off an airline, whom they may deem to be a threat or a disruption to the flight. If the flight had taken off, with the Doc and she and the Arab came to blows, the safety to the flight and the other passengers, would have been affected.

This Doctor is entitled to her opinion and can speak freely on the phone whatever she feels about Israel and Arabs. She can not be insulted by anyone who hears her conversation. Its called a freedom of speach. You can talk on the phone on the plane before the plane starts moving. The people who criticize her on this forum should go back to their shtetls in Ukraine.
Unfortunately Jewish groups and organizations do support her and it is very bad .
We are loosing to arabs and become afraid to speak out.

Sounds like the Palestinian woman is the one that should have been thrown off the Jet Blue flight. Does Jet Blue only allow hate speech from Palestinians?

    Correction to #40 .
Unfortunately Jewish groups and organizations DO not support her and this is very bad.
I consider it is a betrayal.

To #45 -Haimov-You don’t seem to understand that we are not living on Hester Street on the Lower East Side, where it was common place for people to scream from their tenements, from one neighbor to the other; then, the entire neighborhood knew everyone’s business. For an educated person, the Doctor should have used a little better discretion, and kept her political opinions in public, to herself. Yes, I believe in freedom of speech, within reason. Undoubtedly, she and the Arab woman became involved in a verbal altercation, where cursing and name calling probably resulted. The airline should have thrown both of them off the plane, instead of choosing sides. However, the FAA should ban ALL cell phone use on a commercial aircraft, including before and after a flight. Cell phones in public, when they are not being used for an emergency, are nothing but a nuisance. One time, I was shopping at Walmart, and a woman in an aisle was talking loudly, and bragging about how successful she was in “cleaning her ex-husband out”, during her recent divorce! Now, who wants to hear that garbage in public? This is typical of some of the nonsensical cell phone conversations heard in public!
