The event was organized in response to the escalation of the fighting in Israel and the dangerous predicament that the country finds itself in.
Cantors from across the spectrum lead prayers accompanied by a choir.
Rabbi Yechiel Kaufman, The Rov of the congregation delivered a message of hope and resilience in times of danger and adversity.
“At this time of great danger to the Jewish people when hundreds of thousands of our brethren in Israel are living in fear, hiding in shelter to protect their lives, we can often feel helpless”, said event organizer Cantor Benny Rogosnitzky.
“We decided as a group to come together on very short notice to inspire our community to prayer and to replace fear with hope”, he said.

One of the highlights of the evening was the young child Aryeh Polack who stood up to sing. Many attendees could be seen wiping away tears as the beautiful and haunting melodies were sung Said Rogosnitzky.
David Meyer who traveled from Long Island to attend this event said, “I felt at a loss, and helpless when it came to the situation that is going on in Israel, tonight gave me hope. Rather than sit in New York in the height of summer I decided to travel to Israel and be with my people in this difficult time” he said.
The evening closed with a special memorial prayer for the great cantor Moshe Schuloff who’s Yortzeit was yesterday evening.
“As the cantors were singing, heavy rain could be heard outside, it was as if heaven had joined with us in a moment of unity and deep payer, inspiring all the many hundreds who attended” Rogosnitzky added.
Cantors who preformed were Cantors Yaakov Rosenfeld, Cantor Shimmy Miller, Cantor Yaakov Lemmer, Cantor Zevi Muller, Cantor Pinchas Cohen, Cantor Benny Rogosnitzky, Park East Synagogue Choir, Aryeh pollack (child), Russell Ger conductor.
Is that Pavaratti with the long hair?
A banda leitzim. Our brothers are hunkered down from flying missiles and we in America enjoy some Cantorial entertainment under the guise of prayer. Quite sickening.
One man’s opinion….
It was a MEANINGFUL and beautiful evening!
Yasher Ko’ach for the video.
