A Delta Boeing 747 from New York was flying over the Mediterranean headed for Tel Aviv on Tuesday when it turned around and flew to Paris instead. Flight 468 had 273 passengers and 17 crew on board.

US Airways, which has one daily flight from Philadelphia, canceled that flight Tuesday and the return trip from Tel Aviv. United Airlines, which has two flights daily to Israel out of Newark, N.J., did comment immediately on the status of those flights.

Israeli media is reporting that United Airlines have followed suit and announced they have also canceled all flights in and out of Tel Aviv.

Airlines and passengers are growing more anxious about safety since last week, when a Malaysia Airlines jet was shot down over Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.

In light of recent news, the Malaysian Airlines massacre, the ground attack in Tripoli and the under-reported attack on a Saudia jet in Pakistan, I do not see how they had a choice. Still, this is bad news.

So what is Delta going to do with the hundreds of passengers that it stranded in Paris? Will it compensate them or give them a refund? During the Six Day War and the Yom Kippur War, all of the commercial airlines, with the exception of El Al cancelled service to EY. EL Al was the only one which kept flying! One can say what they want about El Al; however, remember that when the chips are down, it is there when you need it!

And we are suppose to buy into that Israel is the safest place for Jews?
Any sane Jew should admit by now that Israel is far from a safe heaven for Jews.

They are concerned for passenger safety and for possibly getting hit by a missile. Some of you will misconstrue it and call it anti-Semitism-which it is not-no way.Flying to Israel right now is dangerous and plans have to be suspened,It’s the right thing to do !!

Maven, we all understand that Israel is not necessarily the safest place for Jews to be at the moment. On the other hand, most people feel that if Israel did not exist, there would be few places safe for Jews, in any event. So whatever you’re trying to say is on par with what the Meraglim said after scouting out Eretz Yisroel….You don’t need to point out the negative things about our land to prove your point. We’re all aware of what missiles falling can do but your thoughts are not particularly useful

Meraglim? hu? please learn a bit better.
Eretz Yisroel was promised and given to the Jews by hashem with CONDITIONS and we failed miserably. Now comes Tisha b’av were we sit and cry over what we lost. We Jews were kicked out of Eretz Yisroel NOT becuase we lost a war but becuase as we recite in Mussaf prayer on holidays, “For our sins we were exiled from out land.”

Hashem is giving us a clear message:
GO to Israel A. S. A. P. because soon it might be to late to do so, give up your comforts and head out to the Holy Land NOW! Be smart, wake up and realize what Hashem is trying to tell us.

    MESSAGE FROM HASHEM

Maven, you mention…”Since the existence of the state of Israel over thirty thousand Jews have been killed” …….
and how many Jews were killed before the existence of Israel? At its height Aushwitz could kill that many Jews in less than a few days…possibly quicker…..So what are you trying to say? That without Israel the Jews would be sitting pretty? Keep talking bad about Eretz Yisroel…keep it up…again, similar to the Meraglim, you see a beautiful country with Yeshivas, Jews, shuls, etc..and you have only negative things to say…..
