The ban began 12:15 p.m. EST on Tuesday, the agency said in a statement.

“Due to the potentially hazardous situation created by the armed conflict in Israel and Gaza, all flight operations to/from Ben Gurion International Airport by U.S. operators are prohibited until further advised,” the FAA said in its notice to airlines. The rocket strike landed about one mile from the airport, the agency said.

The notice applies only to U.S. airlines since the FAA has no authority over carriers from other nations.

The agency said it will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation, and that updated instructions will be provided to U.S. airlines “as soon as conditions permit, but no later than 24 hours” from the time the directive went into force.

    BOYCOTT AIRLINES THAT SUPPORT HAMAS!!

Hamas is trying to terrorize the people of Israel that life should not be able to go on as usual. With the airlines halting flights they are giving Hamas EXACTLY what it wants!!!

I think it is very important that Israel advises Hamas that if any missiles hit the airport or hit an airplane, or even if there are any close calls, we will wipe Gaza off the map. Don’t like it? Get out of our country until you learn to behave!

The airlines are playing it safe, and can’t be faulted for that.

After what happened in Ukraine, this is the prudent move. Hamas would love nothing more than to take down a jetliner full of Jews.

USA & European airlines cancel flights to Israel after rocket hits near airport:
I THINK that Hashem is giving us a clear message: GO/fly to Israel A. S. A. P. because soon it might be to late to do so, give up all of your your comforts and head out to the Holy Land NOW! Be smart, wake up and realize what Hashem is trying to convey to us.

Well, El Al planes are equipped with anti rocket defenses. And El Al is still flying. FYI – despite some complaints by fussy passengers, I have found El Al to be the best airline. They are very respectful of older people, especially if you need a wheelchair.

    FLY EL AL!!!

Why can’t those same airlines fly into Eilat? Its newer airport has a sufficient runway lengths to accommodate large jets. The passengers could then be take by bus up north.

Easy does it. 24 hours are not all choices. Shocking. Lets hope this actually justifies the enactment of the surgical strikes.

Humanity needs to dream. We can not overlook that Torah is every jew’s proscribed future.

    Hoping for the best.

Fortunately, as I had previously feared, this is not BDS activity. Safety is very important. Living is never without complications.
