“Aiding Hamas while simultaneously isolating Israel does two things. One, it helps our enemy. Two, it hurts our ally,” said Cruz.

In a statement released by Cruz, he asks the Obama Administration to answer for the FAA’s decision to suspend flights into Israel:

    • Was this decision a political decision driven by the White House?
    • If the FAA’s decision was based on airline safety, why was Israel singled out, when flights are still permitted into Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen?
    • What was the FAA’s ‘safety’ analysis that led to prohibiting flights to Israel, while still permitting flights to Ukraine—where a commercial airline flight was just shot down with a BUK missile?
    • What specific communications occurred between the FAA and the White House? And the State Department? Why were any such communications necessary, if this was purely about airline safety?
    • Was this a safety issue, or was it using a federal regulatory agency to punish Israel to try to force them to comply with Secretary Kerry’s demand that Israel stop their military effort to take out Hamas’s rocket capacity?

Cruz continued in his statement, “Tourism is an $11 billion industry for Israel, which is in the middle of a summer high season already seriously diminished by the conflict initiated by Hamas. Group tours have been cancelling at a 30% rate. This FAA flight ban may well represent a crippling blow to a key economic sector through both security concerns and worries that additional bans will down more flights and strand more passengers. It hardly matters if or when the ban is lifted. At this point, the damage may already be done.”

this is ANTI_SEMITIC – Congress should fight FAA and pass a law against them

All of Obama’s decisions regarding the Middle East are politically driven. All of them are intended to support and build the nests and regimes of anti-Israel terror. If this terrorist in a suit (BHO) had a sense of moral value to him, he would recognize what is seen by almost all of Europe, that Hamas are inhuman savages who need to be demilitarized and shunned by the civilized world. What is really happening here is that Obama chastises Israel at every opportunity, and runs to send money to terrorists. The level of immorality of the Obama administration makes Clinton look good. He needs to be impeached.

well said. i have been saying this since yesterday. one more thing, any monies promised to Hamas, the very same amount should be given to Israel.

Does his mind ever go straight, or always crooked.

FAA policy should be handled on it’s merits, not on politics.

No wonder this meshugenah is popular in the frum velt. If he can blame anything on Obama, rest assured he will. It’s because of people like him that the Republican Party won’t win a national election for a long time to come and why Hillary will be our next president.

Thank you, Senator Cruz! Our embarrassment of a president is doing all in his power to weaken Israel and embolden the terrorist enemy. Remember, Mr. Obama, just because you are a born Muslim, if your terrorist brothers strike, you’re no safer than anyone else because they hate all Americans!

there’s more of a chance that a plane will hit a flock of birds in the US than a missile hitting a plane around Ben Gurion Airport

Bloomberg being afraid of a Big Gulp soda but not afraid to travel to Israel says it all. That should be touted to Congress and the press.

I recently noted President Obama can no longer be trusted as a “friend of Israel” & the FAA boycott makes me afraid as Jew & ashamed I voted for him. Jews say “never again” & when a president of the United States publicly speaks out against Israel & speaks of “economic boycotts” days before the FAA bans all flights to Israel, we are forgetting our pledge.

And the idiot wing of the GOP strikes again! Blame Obama for not insisting on a flight ban over Ukraine leading to last week’s tragedy, and then, when the administration takes those same precautions in another war zone, their hyperactive imagination, Cruz and Cronies play the supposed anti-israel card.

Sadly, as so many of the commenters above show, if it’s true that Jews are smart, we must be thinking about Jews other than Brooklyn’s frumme dittoheads.
