Speaking ahead of a special cabinet meeting, the prime minister said that the IDF has delivered a powerful blow to Hamas infrastructure over the course of the 17 day operation.

“We are continuing the operation in full strength,” he said, adding that the IDF was making big gains in Gaza.

Netanyahu also trumpeted Israel’s diplomatic gains, in successfully convincing US aviation authorities to resume flights to and from Ben-Gurion Airport, despite their concerns of the ongoing rocket threat from Gaza.

“In the past day, we have worked to overturn the FAA ban on flights to and from Israel, and that has borne fruit.”

The prime minister lamented the loss of 32 Israeli soldiers since the ground incursion into Gaza began one week ago.

“In the name of all the people of Israel, I express deep condolences to the families, the fathers and mothers, of our soldiers that have died protecting our country.”

Bibi – Don’t back down now as you’ve done in the past! This is probably your best chance to inflict as much damage as possible on Hamas. If you don’t the job right this time, the next chance may prove much more difficult as Hamas will be armed with more sophisticated missiles and weapons. Forget about world opinion and do what you know you have to do once and for all. The world will always be against Israel and the Jews. One thing though – any time that you or any Israeli politician is confronted with this ridiculous claim about Israel’s military response being “disproportionate,” why don’t you ask them how many civilians you killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and then tell them to shut the hell up!
