Washington – US Fuming Over Israeli Criticism Of Kerry

FILE - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry talks on the telephone on July 25, 2014, in a hotel hallway in Cairo, Egypt, as regional and international leaders try to craft a cease-fire agreement to halt the fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. [State Department photo/ Public Domain]Washington – Obama administration officials were fuming Monday over Israeli criticism of Secretary of State John Kerry’s latest bid to secure a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

In unusually harsh language, officials said the criticism of Kerry could put the relationship between the U.S. and Israel in jeopardy. They also said the personal attacks on Kerry cross a line and are particularly disappointing at a time of active conflict.

Israeli media commentators have leveled almost nonstop criticism at Kerry in recent days over his attempts to bring Qatar and Turkey into the cease-fire negotiations. Both countries are viewed by Israel as strong Hamas supporters.

The U.S. officials insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter on the record by name. White House national security adviser Susan Rice is expected to address the situation in the Middle East later Monday.

“Israeli media commentators have leveled almost nonstop criticism at Kerry”.
Is the US suggesting these ‘Israeli media commentators’ curtail their freedom of speech? For shame!

Kerry, If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen!

After the hot mic comments, do you expect Israelis to trust Kerry?

What’s his name will be out of office in two years. It’s plenty of time for him to do damage, but he may have a fight in Congress. The question is whether there’ll be enough bi-partisan support in Congress to get in the middle other than the usual non-binding resolutions and speeches. Bi-partisanship has been absent during this administration..

There should not be personal attacks on Kerry. Lighten up fellas. The attacks should be on the entire Obama administration. They are all in bed with Hamas terrorists, and do not truly support Israel. Kerry is only authorized to utter that which his boss instructs him to say. Like failing to tell Hamas that they will never receive a dollar even indirectly if they keep shooting rickets. But then he turns to offer the $47 million which will eventually fund more terror. The Obama administration is against Israel, and it is time we all recognized that.

If anyone should be fuming, it should be Israel not the US. The US is endangering the security of Israel.

So, the Administration blames the Israeli government for comments made by its citizens and members of the press? It’s one thing to object to official government releases, but this is a little over the top.

How old are they? They should grow up & deal with it. There’s a big problem if an entire administration can’t handle criticism. Welcome to Israel’s world.

The US is right. While Kerry’s moves have been one blunder after another, to the point where both Israel and the PA are in agreement, there’s no place in the diplomatic arena for the personal attacks on him. Criticism should be restricted to rejecting his proposals and explaining why. Considering how reliant Israel is on the US it’s really foolish to be insulting him and his knowledge of the area. They are embarrassing him and that’s not going to serve israels interests in the long run.

Kerry and the entire administration should be comfortable with criticism; it is well earned.

Obama openly pressured Israel for a ceasefire WITH NO PRECONDITIONS. That is outright allowing hamas to keep their tunnels, rockets and have time to regroup. Obama and his lackey kerry are appeasing the arabs and demanding that Israel just sit quietly and allow the rockets to attack with no self defense. Obama is no friend of Israel. Everyone should write their congressmen and demand that all aid to Gaza be stooped because it goes straight to hamas.

THE TRUTH ALWAYS HURTS!!!!! MAYBE HE CAN EXPLAIN WHY HE APPEASES HAMAS WHO ARE SWORN TERRORISTS WHO DON’T VALUE ANYONES LIFE ‘ AND ONLY WANT ONE THING —-THE DISSOLUTION OF JEWISH STATE…THE ISSUES OF THIS WAR ARE NOT FOR CEASEFIRE OR COMPROMISE………ISRAEL FIGHTING FOR THEIR “PEACEFUL” EXISTENCE—-JUST LIKE ANY OTHER TRUE DEMOCRACY………

Wait. Let me get this straight. America’s media is allowed to criticize Israel without limit or impunity (freedom of speech) but Israel’s media is not allowed to criticize Kerry? We are told that we must uphold freedom of speech and religion in our country, but I guess that only applies when its not about America? wahhhhhhh.
