Isaac Abraham, a 56-year-old community activist and hardware-store owner from Williamsburg, joins at least four other contenders for the Democratic nomination to succeed David Yassky, who represents the 33rd District.

The primary is scheduled for Sept. 9. No Republican has stepped forward so far. The diverse district also includes Park Slope, Greenpoint, DUMBO, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights and Boerum Hill.

“I’m not running as a religious person. I’m running as a qualified person,” Abraham said.
“One of the issues I want to fight for is school vouchers.”

its called “Kinah” or in english jealos, i guess you didnt make it too big in life, did you? anyway, go Issac go, a satmer veiwpoint in city counsel would be great, but watch out for the attacks from the reformer and conservative jews they will do whatever they can to stop this.

the fact alone that we’ll have a jewish politician in NY who dosent support the state of Israel at alll… is welcome news for me.

Boruch Hashem. We finally have one of our own running. I’m sick of Hikind telling me who to vote for. I’m with Abraham. Who ever heard of Lazar? Abraham has been part of our community for years! Vote Abraham!

    Golem, do you mean “E”nglish & jealo”u”s?

Spelling aside, I do very well, thank you. But as I said, I know Isaac from a long time ago, & his #1 concern is always….Isaac Abraham.

I’m sure you can quote chapter & verse on all the good he’s done, but his primary motive has always been his own self-promotion. If other people benefit, that’s nice.
