Isaac Abraham, a 56-year-old community activist and hardware-store owner from Williamsburg, joins at least four other contenders for the Democratic nomination to succeed David Yassky, who represents the 33rd District.
The primary is scheduled for Sept. 9. No Republican has stepped forward so far. The diverse district also includes Park Slope, Greenpoint, DUMBO, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights and Boerum Hill.
“I’m not running as a religious person. I’m running as a qualified person,” Abraham said.
“One of the issues I want to fight for is school vouchers.”
The more Jewish politicians, the more anti semitism
Lets see if his community leaders $$$$$ on his behalf.
GO ISAAC, GO!!!!
he should polish up his look for the job
SCHOOL VOUCHERS IS A STATE ISSUE, THERE ISN’T MUCH YOU CAN DO.
To its no joke: KEEP YOUR STUPID COMMENTS TO YOURSELF!!!!
School voouchers arae only one, albiet an important one, issue. Every group in the city has some representation in the council – why not a chusid? We have our own issues.
GO ISSAC GO I AM FULLY SUPPORTING OF ABRAHAM ,,HE IS A DOER A PERSON THAT WILL NOT SLEEP ON BEHALF OF THE COMMUNITY . ITS ABOUT TIME THAT A PERSON LIKE ABRAHAM SHAKES UP THE CITY COUNCIL ..BTW ISSAC CLOSE YOUR SHIRT BUTTON COLLOR ALL THE WAY IT JUST LOOKS BETTER ON PHOTO UPS

its called “Kinah” or in english jealos, i guess you didnt make it too big in life, did you? anyway, go Issac go, a satmer veiwpoint in city counsel would be great, but watch out for the attacks from the reformer and conservative jews they will do whatever they can to stop this.
the fact alone that we’ll have a jewish politician in NY who dosent support the state of Israel at alll… is welcome news for me.
The last name has to end in itz to get anywhere/anything in that district! Personally i fargin it for any frum Yid who has the potential but the so called founders of the community(they feel as if they are the founders) will stop him!
Boruch Hashem. We finally have one of our own running. I’m sick of Hikind telling me who to vote for. I’m with Abraham. Who ever heard of Lazar? Abraham has been part of our community for years! Vote Abraham!
he always worked hard for the community i will vote for him

its interesting that two posts down here on Vin News as of now, UJO and Niederman didn’t get only 2 comments, and here people keep on posting so far 20
shows you who the people like
Golem, do you mean “E”nglish & jealo”u”s?
Spelling aside, I do very well, thank you. But as I said, I know Isaac from a long time ago, & his #1 concern is always….Isaac Abraham.
I’m sure you can quote chapter & verse on all the good he’s done, but his primary motive has always been his own self-promotion. If other people benefit, that’s nice.
hay “im ein ani li mi li”?????
Issac, Is community liaison stil open?
let’s face reality, this man got no chance, let him keep dreaming if it makes him feel better.

Hey! If Obama’s credentials as a community orgenizer qualifies him for President of the USA, Issac can make it as a council member for sure.
