Palestinians gather near the minaret of a mosque that police said was destroyed by an Israeli Air strike in Gaza City July 30, 2014. ReutersOttawa, Canada – Prime Minister Stephen Harper is reiterating his government’s hard line against Hamas, saying it is solely responsible for the death and destruction in Gaza.

Harper said that while no one likes to see the suffering and loss that is occurring in the Middle East, Hamas is to blame.

The prime minister said Hamas started the war because the terrorist organization wants to destroy the state of Israel.

Harper added that if a terrorist organization were attacking Canadians, there would be a similar response from Canada.

Harper’s comments came after Israeli strikes hit a crowded shopping area in Gaza City Wednesday, hours after tank shells tore through the walls of a U.N. school crowded with war refugees in the deadliest of a series of air and artillery attacks that pushed the Palestinian death toll above 1,300 in more than three weeks of fighting.

Thank you Mr. Harper. One brave voice in the wilderness of a world that hates Jews…..especially Jews that fight back.

At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I would like to point out the negative side:

How very sad it is that we need to praise a national leader for simply speaking the truth!

Yes. Of course. PM Harper deserves the praise for his integrity and courage. But only because there are so so many feckless yellow-bellied leaders that either don’t want to see the truth, or they’re too chicken to speak up!

In a normal world we would yawn at Harper’s comments. We would say “Well, everybody KNOWS that. What else is new…”

    Note:
IMHO this situation is one of Hashem’s final tests before he will judge the nations.
Many of them I do not envy….

Stephen Harper our prime minister is a beacon of decency among obfuscating politicians Unlike President Obama he does not play failed politics to appease those who would bring harm to America. We may not have the might of America, but we do have straight thinking leader. Proud to be a citizen of Canada.

It is not proper for a his to be disrespectful to a sitting president. Calling him a donkey does not help our case. The hypocrisy is what boggles the mind. Obama has no problem ordering a drone attack on a Taliban leader that will distroy his home and everyone in it including women and children. How does he rationalize this hypocrisy to himself???

If only a few more governments especially Israel’s ” best friend” the USA would act like him the war would be long over or better yet it probably would have never begun because Hamas wouldn’t dare start up
Courage and strength is a rare value
