Brooklyn, NY – One person has been arrested tonight in Sunday night’s vicious beating of an 18 year old woman in Midwood, who was dragged out of an elevator, assaulted and robbed, as previously reported on VIN News.

An NYPD spokesperson told VIN News that 18 year old Tyler Hoppin of 1255 E 85th Street has been charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of stolen property in the attack which took place on July 27th.
A second suspect who was also visible on the building’s video surveillance is still being sought.
City Councilman Chaim Deutsch who represents the 48th City Council District, says police have the name and address of the second suspect, who has a long list of prior arrests.
“I commend the NYPD for the arrest of one of the suspects in the brutal assault that took place this Sunday in Midwood,” Deutsch told VIN News. “Under command of Richard deBlasio, the 70th precinct worked swiftly and diligently to apprehend one of the perpetrators of this despicable crime. I am confident that another arrest is forthcoming and I thank the hardworking officers who continue to keep our streets safe and our children protected.”
