Only 16 lawmakers submitted votes of no confidence, while 109 others voted against the resignation, Russian news agency Itar Tass reported.

Yatsenyuk submitted his resignation on July 24 after two parties – Udar and Svoboda – quit the coalition that is governing Ukraine until parliamentary elections can be conducted.

If a new coalition is not formed within a month, President Petro Poroshenko can dissolve the parliament and announce early elections.
