NYPOST.com (http://bit.ly/UD2aaa) reports that Ronald Bozeman was originally identified as the gunman in a 2011 bank robbery near the Atlantic Terminal, but the witnesses later recanted their stories and fingered another man during a second grand jury appearance.
Despite the witnesses testimony, Hynes’ office charged Bozeman anyway and he spent the following year in prison until a Brooklyn judge subsequently dismissed the charges.
Bozeman’s attorney, Mark Bederow, said, “What is truly disgraceful is that even as Ronald sat in jail month after month, the former Brooklyn DA’s Office exhibited complete indifference to the plainly-obvious fact that Ronald was innocent.”
Is someone keeping a running tally of of these cases there are?
Please when their is smoke thier is fire. These guys ain’t as innocent as they look. I know everyone loves bashing Hynes. Bottom line he did a great job and I don’t believe he was corrupt. This is all a witchhunt. Yes it was time for some young blood and for Hynes to leave. But genuk shoin with all the Hynes bashing.
I am sorry for the pain he went through. I respect his decision to sue the city and I am glad that he won!
