Ban urges both sides “to show maximum restraint and return to the agreed 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire that tragically lasted such a brief period of time,” U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said.

The U.N. chief condemns Hamas’ reported violation of the cease-fire which “is likely to have very serious consequences for the people of Gaza, Israel and beyond,” Dujarric said.

“Such moves call into question the credibility of Hamas’ assurances to the United Nations,” he said.

Dujarric said Ban is also deeply concerned at the resumption of Israeli attacks on Gaza and the killing of over 70 Palestinians Friday morning.

Now Ban Ki-moon has seen Hamas storing rockets in UN schools and crawling through tunnels (built with UN money) to kidnap Israeli soldiers during the ceasefire, he knows what Israel is dealinging with. These are fanatical zealots who place no value on human llife and are willing to die to advance Islamic Jihad.

This guy is better than his predecessors, more even-handed. You don’t have to agree with everything he says, but he is willing to call a spade a spade.

“Such moves call into question the credibility of Hamas’ assurances to the United Nations,” he said.”
And finding the rockets placed in UN schools didn’t?
