Linda Estrada, a grand Jury clerk in Travis County, said Monday that the judge overseeing the case decided against issuing an arrest warrant.

Estrada said that Judge Bert Richardson decided instead that Perry will receive a summons to appear which has not been issued yet.

It won’t be until Perry’s defense attorney and the state set a date for him to appear in court.

It wasn’t clear if Perry was going to have to be booked or have a mug shot taken.

Perry was indicted Friday on charges of coercion and official oppression for publicly promising to veto $7.5 million for the state public integrity unit run.

Abuse of power by a stupid DRUNKEN ALCOHOLIC DA. She should at a minimum be dismissed and sentenced to a year of AA meetings.

Perry got a little arrogant in making his opinion known publically. He could have just vetoed the funding request and privately had the lady fired. I think the prosecutor who was caught drunk driving should have been given a choice, stop drinking, go to rehab or be fired. That could have worked and not made a big mess out of this.
