Tehran – Iran: Hamas ‘Brought Israel To Its Knees

    17

Palestinian militants from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) take part in a news conference in Gaza City August 27, 2014. An open-ended ceasefire in the Gaza war between Israel and the Palestinians held on Wednesday as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced strong criticism in his country's newspapers over a campaign in which no clear victor emerged. REUTERS/Ahmed Zakot Tehran – Iran said Wednesday that Palestinian militants had emerged the victors and brought their Israeli foe “to its knees” during the bloody 50-day Gaza conflict.

“The heroic Palestinian people have forged a new era with the victory of the resistance which has brought the Zionist regime to its knees,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.

“This victory prepares the way for the final liberation of all the occupied lands especially Quds (Jerusalem),” it said, congratulating the Palestinian people and the militant groups in Gaza that Iran supports.

After seven weeks of the deadliest Israeli-Palestinian violence in a decade, a long-term ceasefire took hold at 1600 GMT on Tuesday, sparking festivities around the Gaza Strip.

The conflict, which began on July 8 when Israel began Operation Protective Edge in a bid to stamp out cross-border rocket fire, cost the lives of 2,143 Palestinians and 70 on the Israeli side.

UN figures show nearly 70 percent of the Palestinian victims were civilians, while 64 of the Israelis killed were soldiers.

A Palestinian official said the Egyptian-mediated deal would involve an end to Israel’s eight-year blockade of Gaza.

Ending the blockade had been a key Palestinian demand in truce talks, with the Islamist movement Hamas that rules Gaza hailing the agreement as a “victory for the resistance”.

Even if it were true Hamass paid quite a price with the deaths of many terrorist leaders, low level terrorists, buildings and millions of dollars in damage to their underground tunnel system. Many Hamass members waited in line fort the proported 72 virgins this summer.

Kol hakovod to the Hamas PR Ministry….it takes great skills to “spin” the thousands of deaths and injuries to your people and the destruction of billions of dollars of infrastructure and much of your terrorist apparatus as a “victory” but as we all know, whats important is perception, not reality.

‘brought their Israeli foe “to its knees.” ‘

to paraphrase Tom Clancy, victories like this Hamas can do without.

Iran is right his time. Israel just suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands if Bibi who didn’t even dare consult with his security ministers or cabinet because he knew they were all against it! How dare he sacrifice the safety off usraeli citizens this way, just for the sake of appeasing obama. It’s absolutely shameful. hamass certainly does have reason to claim victory: bibi was saying all along he’d never negotiate with terrorists nor would he give them reward for their terrorism by giving in to their demands. And now what has he done ? Everything he said he would never do. He gave in to their demands, effective immediately, while Israel gets what???? A “promise” from hamass not to fire more rockets. I never thought bit I could do something so dangerous or so stupid. He should be thrown out of the govt. now.

Really, Israel has set Gaza back by about twenty years, at least.
According to the UN, 17,200 homes were destroyed or severely damaged, with 100,000 Palestinians homeless.

I wish Iran this type of victories, too!

before i begin excuse my spelling i am new to america …from my view israel clearly lost the chess match ….fatah and hamas are fighting for the harts and minds of the palastinian people fatah claims in todays world diplomesy will bring the most results while hamas claims israel only understands the language of war , the palastinian people are watching ….now if hamas can deliver open borders with egypt and or israel ,billions of dollars in international aid rumerd to be close to 6 billion enough to turn gaza into a las vages and with international pressure even a sea port and even maybe an air port, hamas willhave made a poerfull point to the palastiian people while fatah is talking and talking while delivering nothing in return we are turning gaza into a real indipendent country

    Is this guy on drugs?
The only victory Hamas got was that Israel had too much heart to keep pummeling them

Let them think & say what they want about a winner or looser. If Hamas is so happy with their “win” – please let them tell the rest of the world that, so that the “looser” in this war (Israel) will no longer be vilified in the international media, and on the streets. Let them fly palestinian flags wherever they want – as long as they are not firing rockets, attacking innocent people the world over. Let them get billions of $$$s in aid. But the Israelis NEED to demilitarize Gaza. That is the ONLY way forward. As soon as there are any attacks on Israel or Jews worldwide, there needs to be just as much, or more PR for Israel, as well as the need to hit them back to prevent it happening again.

All these savages have this point is the opportunity to flap their mindless mouths. Sadly it was the murder of three innocent boys which started this conflict that lead to the discovery of what may have been far worse.

I think that one will make in in the list of the “10 most ridiculous national statements of 2014”. Hamas military is almost destroyed, so is its on-ground infrastructure, its popularity is at its lowest and no more tunnel in Israel. Hamas had to search a cease-fire or it would capitulate.

Haniyeh and his foes better hide quickly like the rats they are, before they get blown-up by surprise. Coming soon…
