Haniyeh told a pro-Hamas rally outside the offices of the Palestinian Legislative Council in Gaza City said that the war showed that the “resistance has become much more developed than the past.”

He said that Hamas was this time prepared for the battle with Israel. “We managed to crush the myth of the enemy army that can’t be defeated,” he said. “The Palestinian people did not celebrate Eid al-Fitr, but today they are celebrating the holiday of victory.”

Abu Obaida, spokesman for Hamas’ armed wing, Izaddin al-Qassam, held a press conference together with representatives of other Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip where he too declared “victory.”

He said that the “resistance won because it was able to strike at the heart” of Israel. “We told the enemy: You are not safe on any piece of our land.”

Abu Obaida boasted that Hamas and the other armed groups managed to drive tens of thousands of Israelis out of their homes during the war.

“Gaza has exposed the Zionist entity and its security and military leadership,” he continued. “We have exposed them as murderers who target innocent civilians after failing to face our fighters.”

What a brave leader Hamas has. He comes out of his rat hole after a ceasefire is signed.

If this is victory, how many more launch sites and tunnels would have to be destroyed for it to be a defeat?

Haha. The usual lying from the hamas clowns. You know this imagination of theirs has cost them many wars. Remember ’67 the Egyptians were broadcasting Israel’s defeat as they were at the brink of complete demise. Those messages gave Jordan, Syria etc a false sense if security to try and advance which was part of why Israel did so well.
Hahaha once again at the hamas fools that lie to their poeple, this is good for Israel.

From the Hamas perspective and belief that death is life of course it’s a victory! Their indoctrination from their own Koran is the greater number of martyrs including their own children, the greater their victory. As far as their property and economic damage that’s the cost of martyrdom! Hamas will now receive billions of shekel from the International community to rebuild all their destructed property including the tunnels until it is destroyed again in their next round of martyrdom! Why should they change their beliefs and religion of how they define their victory! Israels definition of life and victory is defined differently based on a different belief and or philosophy.

Reminds me of George Bush when he went to IRAQ to declare victory. After a trillion dollars we are still fighting.

Haniyeh was once in an Israeli jail and was traded in a deal for Israeli soldier.
