Nabil Sha’ath, a former PA foreign minister and negotiator, told the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency that the Arab League would meet on September 5 to discuss how to support the Palestinian move.

Sha’ath said that the Palestinian application would be submitted to the Security Council on September 15.

He warned that if the request if turned down, the PLO would approach the International Criminal Court with a request to hold Israeli leaders accountable for “war crimes” during Operation Protective Edge.

“Taking the case to the ICC is conditional upon the Security Council response to our request,” Sha’ath said, adding that the issue is being discussed within Palestinian political circles.

He claimed that Israel accepted the latest cease-fire deal without the demilitarization of Hamas following pressure from the US.

“Israel fears losing its allies given the ongoing unrest in the region,” Sha’ath added.

Last weekend, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas announced that he was planning a “diplomatic and political surprise” that would make the US unhappy.

Informed sources in Ramallah said that Abbas’s “surprise” included asking the Security Council to set a “timetable” for a full Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital.

Abbas said he would present his initiative to US Secretary of State John Kerry during their meeting early next month. He also expressed hope that the Arab countries would support his plan, which he termed an “unconventional solution.”

He can’t impose his will on Israel, that’s not the way things work!
Let him go to the ICC, he won’t get very far.

They have no legitimate claim and in fact there is no such thing as a “Palestinian people”. They are mostly Jordanian Arabs. We however have a long standing historical record of ownership of the Temple Mount area where the Moslem invaders built a gold domes mosque. We should go to the UN todemand the return of that site to the Jewish people.

Before that happens we want America to give back the 13 colonies to Great Britain and also Texas and California to Mexico and.. …all of Africa, India, Australia ,etc must be returned to Great Britain,as well as all the Arab areas where they are dwelling illegally after butchering whoever came before them.I am sure the list will go on and on !!

How about we start the prosecution by accusing Hamas of firing bombs at civilians for years and wanton murder of their own savages as well as anyone who will not agree with them and what they stand for.
That is why a war/conflict with a true victory at the finish is necessary, where the “loser”will have no basic claim left is so important.

Otherwise,3/4 of the world should be returned to Great Britain immediately

everyones making good points, but remember that the world doesnt like jews and will always aim to take their side. so yes they committed war crimes, and yes they are not even a legitimate people. but they want jewish land, and thats not too much to ask because it belongs to jews. so its something the israeli government is going to have to deal with whether it makes sense or not.

This is absolute proof of what we all suspected. Netanyahu caved to obama pressure and placed his appeasement of the US before the security of his own people! This man deserves to be thrown out of govt, now! This is disgraceful. How dare he drop his earlier demand of demilitarizing hamas and instead walk away with Israel gaining nothing, while hamas gets all their demands met?!

They should give it back, without delay, when Manhattan is returned to the native Americans.

ROFL! This is so crazy, even our enemies across the world (that leaves Canada & Australia) should see how dumb as doorknobs these clowns are, Baruch Hashem. If they were smart we’d be in real trouble. Pre-1967 borders aren’t enough for them…why stop there?
