Borough Park, NY – Councilman Simcha Felder (D-Brooklyn), Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn), and United Community Services (UCS) are hosting a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Mobile Outreach event on July 22, 2008 at the UCS office at 1575 50th Street in Boro Park. Participants should RSVP to Yitty at (718) 854-9300 by July 17, 2008 for an opportunity to apply for non-drivers IDs, renew drivers’ licenses and registration, or take the permit exam.

“This has always been a popular event and I am thrilled that we are bringing it back,” said Felder. “Schlepping to downtown Brooklyn to take care of what should be simple matters at the DMV can become an all-day process, but by bringing the DMV to you, Mobile Outreach turns an otherwise excruciating experience into something a bit more familiar.”

“This is a wonderful event and a significant service to the community. It’s great to work with Simcha to make life easier for people in the community,” said Assemblyman Hikind

comments - arrow This is the best news I heard yet. I want to thank Assemblyman Hikind,Councilman Felder, and UCS for hosting this great and well needed event. I also want to thank are two officials for supporting this new council. we needed a new one along time ago. The old council does not help people, their staff is rude to the clients, and their executive director is nasty to his clients. This is a big Mazal Tov Boro Park needed another council long ago this will bring him some well deserved competition.

comments - arrow I think it is very important for kallahs and chasonim to get non drivers ids if they do not have government picture id. Because I did not have picture id when I had to get a marriage license so the marriage license would not allow me to get married legally. It took around three months until I got picture id and only then I was able to get married legally. So to avoid this hassle I advise every chosson and kallah to get non drivers ids.
