Chicago, IL - A man was found guilty in Cook County Circuit Court of a hate crime and assault after he threatened three Jewish teenagers with a gun and called them anti-Semitic slurs during a confrontation in Lincolnwood last year.

John Fiorentino, 20, of the 2300 block of Chase Avenue in Chicago, was convicted of a hate crime and assault after a two-day jury trial, prosecutors said.

They said Fiorentino pointed a gun at the teenagers and yelled anti-Semitic slurs after a traffic altercation in Lincolnwood. No one was hurt.
“It was road rage compounded into a hate crime,” Assistant State’s Atty. Cathy Crowley said.

Prosecutors said Fiorentino faces up to 3 1/2 years in prison when he is sentenced at the Skokie Courthouse on July 30.
