West Bank – A Palestinian driver attempted to charge through an IDF checkpoint at Eyal, north of Kalkilya in the West Bank on Tuesday The vehicle was found to contain several Palestinians who tried to enter Israel illegally.

The incident ensued when a soldier from the Kfir brigade who felt his life to be in danger opened fire at the vehicle.
One of the vehicle’s passengers was seriously injured and later died of his injuries after being rushed to hospital. A second passenger was hurt after being shot in the leg while trying to escape, sustaining light injuries.
An Israeli civilian also sustained light injuries in the incident.
The remainder of the car’s passengers were detained for questioning.
