Police Commissioner William Bratton said Wednesday the officer has been stripped of his gun, badge and police duties while the department investigates.

The video surfaced following the street fair last weekend.

Bratton said the fair was supposed to end at 6 p.m. but it was still going a half hour later. Officers tried to clear the street for traffic.

The amateur video shows officers arresting a man in a black and white jacket. Another officer comes up and appears to kick the man in the side, then walks away.

Bratton says the department is taking the incident very seriously.

Why is it that the NYPD “takes this incident very seriously” (a kick)? Yet, the incident in Staten Island, whereby a man was choked to death for selling illegal cigarettes and resisting arrest is not taken seriously? The cop who applied the banned choke hold, has not even been suspended. Even if he is not indicted, Internal Affairs should punish the cop for the use of the banned choke hold. It is going to cost the taxpayers of the City of NY millions, because of the death of that individual. Each year, NYC has to shell out millions of taxpayer dollars, because of rogue cops who engage in police brutality, and excessive force.

I respect the police. Now I would like them to respect me.As in the the public there are bad apples and apparently in the NYPD.
I recently had a possible racist incident. I havea NYC Disability plaque. After proving to the local precinct I am allowed to park in a particular area I was told by the community affairs officer that i would not receive a ticket from anyone in this precinct for parking there.
Gee whiz, just because I fly an Israeli flag on my car I got a ticket from long time officer from that precinct. He had a middle eastern name??????
Ticket dismissed because of disability plate.
