An NYPD spokesman told VIN News that the incident took place this afternoon at approximately 1:30 PM on Montague Street, between Clinton Street and the junction of Cadman Plaza West and Court Street.

The victim, Hershi Pfeiffer, an NYPD clergy liaison, was sitting in traffic in his white Dodge Ram pickup truck on Montague Street when the attacker, a male in his twenties, came up to the driver’s side window and stabbed him in the neck. According to reports the stabber was employed by Pfeiffer.

Eyewitness Avi Navon told The Brooklyn Eagle that the attacker was 5’10 with black hair and that he argued with Pfeiffer before the stabbing occurred.

The attacker fled the scene, plowing through the lunchtime crowd, knocking one bystander to the ground. Navon called on those nearby to catch the attacker.

Gowanus resident Joseph Washington managed to tackle the attacker as ran towards Court Street.

“I see him running up the block right here on Montague Street,” said Washington. “I chased him in front of the bank. I put his hands behind his back and…I took the knife out of his pocket and put it in my back pocket.”

Navon told The Brooklyn Eagle that the attacker confessed to the stabbing, saying he had been working for two weeks for Pfeiffer and hadn’t been paid.

Police could not confirm how many times the victim had been stabbed.

The suspect was apprehended by the NYPD in front of 181 Montague Street and remains in police custody. The knife used in the attack was recovered by the NYPD.

Pfeiffer was transported to Lutheran Medical Center where he underwent surgery. The public is asked to daven for Yaakov Tzvi ben Chana.

The Torah says to pay employees promptly. Period. For those of us who clean our own toilets, wash our own cars, mow our own lawns, etc it is hard to take seeing frum people turn to cheap labor for everything in their lives. Louie Farrakhans journey to Jew hatred started with his mom being ripped off by a Jewish woman employer.
Pay your employees or do the job yourself.
Now let the “he is frum so he must be righteous” chorus begin….

To #1 -You seem to justify the violent, predator behavior of the stabber. If someone owes you money, you can take them to Small Claims Court, and not stab people.

NotReallyJew #1 managed to combine Jew hatred and class envy (those of us who clean our own toilets, wash our own cars, mow our own lawns) in one relatively short post. And I am sure it was easy for him. Because the two usually go hand in hand. To illustrate this point, NotReallyJew #1 brings up Farrakhan, yimach shmo, whose constant drivel consists of both.

Browsing to find more information about this, I am floored by the voracity and nerve of the first comment. A man was brutally stabbed. This was an unnecessary act of violence to a human being! You are neither judge, jury or God! If this is a religion thing, you are on the wrong planet. Do you know our country was at war? Do you preach on websites around the country, if a person of different color or race or religion has a violent act done against them the reason the victim is at fault! I am enraged. I live in Miami and this may be a person I know whose family I love dearly and I cannot reach them now because yes they are observant. I’m not here to tell you to do teshuva, I’m telling you to get a serious reality check bro. Out of respect I won’t curse on this website but you can literally go blank yourself. No crime goes unpublished and as far as I am concerned your comment is a hate crime. There is a war going on, there is Malaria and Eboli and you will deliver judgement. Final question – were you present when the employee made the agreement about finances with his boss? Cause you just must know something the rest of the folks don’t. Final comment – insane how the social media has given poisonous arsenal to those who have no common sense. Shana Tova to all and the best wishes for the innocent Pfeiffer family.
