Istanbul – President Erdogan: Turkey Will Fight Islamic State, Wants Assad Gone

(AP Photo/Burhan Ozbilici)Istanbul – President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday Turkey would fight against Islamic State and other “terrorist” groups in the region but said it would stick to its aim of seeing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad removed from power.

    “We will fight effectively against both ISIL (Islamic State)and all other terrorist organizations within the region; this will always be our priority,” Erdogan said, according to the text of his speech at the opening of parliament.

    “We will (also) continue to prioritize our aim to remove the Syrian regime, to help protect the territorial integrity of Syria and to encourage a constitutional, parliamentary government system which embraces all (of its) citizens.”

    Dream on. How are you exactly going to get rid of both? Turkey has it own vested interests and would rather ISIL over Assad. Bottom line is that Assad is our best enemy. We can control him . He is weak and he is not sucidal. I would take him over over the alternative any day.

    the world does need any help from Turkey EVER!!

    They have their own agenda on everything,are anti -US,and should be kept out of the loop as they are now closely aligned with Iran,hezbollah and other anti-american organizations
