Pinto discussed the plea bargain he signed with Israel, in which he admitted to bribery and obstruction of justice, reports Israel National News (http://bit.ly/1wZfa83).

“King Yoshiyahu’s whole body stabbed with swords, and so they have stabbed us – but we thank Hashem for each and every moment,” said Pinto.

“We are not afraid –like [Biblical] Avraham – he was not afraid of anything and we are not afraid of anyone,” he continued.

The rabbi struck the deal with former senior police official Menashe Arbiv in exchange for leniency in the final ruling.

Pinto is being tried for corruption in connection to a case for allegedly attempting to bribe an Israeli senior police officer, Ephraim Bracha, with $200,000 in an attempt to get information regarding an investigation into Hazon Yeshaya charity, a group Pinto was purportedly involved with.

Bracha reported the incident, leading to an investigation into Pinto.

Allegations include that Pinto tried to bribe other officers and that Pinto, along with other members of the charity, stole food and sold it for tens of millions dollars.

“Pinto…..admitted to bribery and obstruction of justice” – so what are they praying for? That next time he obeys laws that everyone else has to obey? A shorter sentence? That the Chillul Hashem be forgiven by Gd? That not so many kids frei out from his (and others) actions? So many things to pray for. Plenty of time on Yom Kippur.
