Sullivan County, NY – Proposed zoning changes with regard to the development of bungalow colonies by the Town of Fallsburg have drawn the ire of developers who claim that the town’s sole intent is to “drive out Jewish people.”

RECORDONLINE.com (http://bit.ly/ZA21qk) reports that Sam Charach, a developer with history of constructing bungalow colonies in the popular summer locale for Orthodox Jewish families, cited a section of the town’s proposed changes that specifically states, “It is the intent of the Town of Fallsburg to not promote the expansion of bungalow colonies” as the reason for his anger.

The harshest change proposed, according to Charach, states that “one residential structure must be built on a 5-acre lot in a flood plain zone.”

“At the end of the day, nothing can be developed with one unit per five acres,” Charach said. “It’s trying to drive out Jewish people.”

Mollie Messenger, head of Fallsburg’s building and code departments, rebuked the charge at a public hearing last Monday, stating that the only goal of the new changes is to make the area “safer” and “more aesthetically pleasing.”

Tell these anti Semites town supervisors or whoever is in power. Let the Jews NOT pay taxes on the many developments for one year. We’ll see how they fare.

What a witch! The only thing “aesthetically pleasing” in South Fallsburg plus the surrounding areas are our beautiful bungalow colonies (or better said “vacation home developments”)

This might actually work out good for the Jewish community. It will force our communities to register and vote upstate and drive these low lifes out of the office.

I think you have to pay the taxes. Maybe you can put it into an escrow account, to show that the money has been paid.

Five acres on a floodplain is not unusual and is the standard recommended by the national association of state planning officers. Perhaps they could reduce the size to only 1 house per acre but anything more dense would be destructive to the environment and should not be allowed for yidden or goyim.l

Why would a quiet community want all the congestion of a bungalow colony?
