Morris County Prosecutor Frederic Knapp said that a pedestrian was killed in the accident at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday near the Alstede Farms in Chester, about 40 miles west of Newark.

Mayor Bill Cogger told WCBS-TV that one victim was transported by helicopter to the hospital. The condition of the other victims wasn’t immediately available.

The farm was the site of a weekend harvest festival.

NJ.com reported that investigators Sunday night were processing evidence around two shuttle buses. WCBS-TV reported that one of the buses was taken away with visible bumper damage Sunday evening.

Cogger said that he’s been warning of the weekly traffic jams in and around the farm on the weekends of the festival for years.

“No one is more frustrated than I am,” he told the TV station.

“I’ve been here every year. It’s always crowded, but this was especially crowded,” visitor Neil Teicher told the station.
